Bright sunshine, burning thighs, and a clear mission: who can do the most squats? For our latest WE•TRST Challenge, we teamed up with our local café in St. Gallen, Balthasar 8. A crisp run up to the Drei Weieren, and a community pushing each other to top performance. That’s exactly what a perfect Sunday looks like.

On Sunday, September 20, St. Gallen was once again all about the WE•TRST Challenge. This time, we partnered with our go-to spot for great coffee: Balthasar 8. After a warm-up run to the Drei Weieren, it was all about pure muscle power and the simple question: who among you can crank out the most squats?

We were thrilled: the weather was perfect and a huge crew showed up. This included so many new faces – it was incredibly great to have you with us!

Warm-up to the Drei Weieren
Anyone who runs in St. Gallen knows: flat is not a thing here. We started with a short but crisp run up to the Drei Weieren. A few meters of elevation gain get the heart rate up to operating temperature, and in this dream weather, the Weieren were simply the perfect backdrop for our challenge.

The Squat Challenge: Who pushes the hardest?
Once we arrived at the top, the task was: as many squats as possible. The beauty of squats is that absolutely everyone can join in – whether it’s your first time running with us or you’ve been part of the crew for ages. However, it gets really intense when your legs are already heavy from the uphill run and everyone around you starts counting out loud. It’s a mental game!

The Reward: Balthasar 8 & STEP•ONE Socks
The grind paid off. The winners were rewarded for their massive effort: with a voucher from Balthasar 8 and a pair of our STEP•ONE socks – the perfect hybrid for everyday life and sports. Big congratulations to you both, you crushed it!

A huge thank you also goes to the team at Balthasar 8 for the fantastic collaboration.

Local Support: Why we do this
For us, the WE•TRST Challenges aren’t just fun, they are our way of giving back to the community and the city. It’s the perfect cycle:

  • The Community: You get rewarded for your athletic performance and your effort.
  • The Partner: Local spots like Balthasar 8 get new faces from the city directly into their store.
  • WE•TRST: We anchor our vision deeper in the region.

We love this dynamic and will definitely continue this model. We are always looking for cool local partners for it.

Should we run by your place too?
Do you have an idea, a gym, a studio, or a store in St. Gallen or Zurich and love our energy? Do you think the WE•TRST Run Club should definitely make a stop at your place during its next run? Then slide into our DMs on Instagram or send us an email and let’s connect.

And if you’re just keen on joining for a run: The WE•TRST Run Club is out on the asphalt every Sunday at 11:00 a.m., alternating between St. Gallen and Zurich. You can find all the info on the respective Run Club pages.

BETTER TOGETHER
